The First
Mayoor Inter-School Invitational English Debate, based on the Modified Asian
Parliamentary Format, was organized on September 1 & 2, 2023. This
format pitches debaters as Team Government and Team Opposition, headed by the
Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition respectively, wherein they
contend on varied topics like – Politics, International Affairs, Economics,
Culture and Education.
A total
of 13 Schools from all over the country participated in this event. The
participating teams competed against each other in three Preliminary, four
Quarter-Final and two Semi-Final Rounds, before reaching the Final Round.
Mayo
College, Ajmer and The Scindia School, Gwalior vied against each other in the
Final Round, on the topic This House, as a loan free-middle class college
graduate in India, would choose to work in a large MNC over a job in Social
Sector.
The
Winner of the First Mayoor Invitational English Debate was Mayo College, Ajmer.
