First, maiden, inaugural trip to Khamli Ghat

Mayoor pioneers a scintillating journey on the Valley Queen Heritage Train.

The pleasant morning of Sunday, 15 Oct. 23 had an added air of exuberance to it as a team of 44 students and 6 teachers from Mayoor School, Ajmer became the trailblazers for the inaugural journey of the historical Valley Queen Heritage Train, traveling through the majestic Aravalli hills between Marwar Junction and Khamli Ghat.

The journey acquired an even more special status as senior officials of the Indian Railways were present at the Railway Station to give this momentous journey a ceremonial start. Flagged off recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a gift to Rajasthan, this train is not only a unique travelling experience but also offers glimpses of Rajasthan's rich railway heritage and history. Running on Meter Gauge and driven by a steam engine, the train took the students back in time when time itself was not such a luxury and facilitated them to relive an era gone by.

The interiors of the train are decorated with themes from Rajasthan's culture, providing passengers with an opportunity to enjoy scenic views, appreciate the amenities and also connect with Rajasthan's geographical heritage.

During their journey on board, the students had the chance to admire the picturesque landscapes of Phulad and the breathtaking valleys of Goram Ghat, known as the Kashmir of Rajasthan before finally reaching Khamli Ghat, the final destination of their journey.

Principal Shri Sanjay Khati expressed gratitude to all the students and their parents who supported and encouraged their children to be a part of this exclusive educational journey. He also reiterated that Mayoor is committed to organizing such programmes with the active support of parents of the School.
