A
four-hour session on Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses, POCSO 2012,
was organized in the School on Saturday,
14 Oct.,’23, further strengthening the fact that a sharper
focus on this burning issue is the need of the hour, and for Mayoor, children’s
sound physical and mental well-being is paramount.
The
Resource Persons for the workshop were Ms.
Bhavna Jain Paul and Mr.
Manish, seasoned psychologists, trainers, and counselors from
New Delhi, who have been associated with this cause for the past 25 years.
The
session started with the opening address by the Principal, Shri Sanjay Khati,
who expressed deep concern about how crucial it is to raise this post-COVID
generation with utmost sensitivity and care.
During
the course of talks, the Resource Persons discussed some really pertinent
topics like types and indicators of abuse, child protection policy, and
proactive measures to prevent child sexual abuse, school environment,
therapeutic interventions, and the role of teachers.
The
session comprised many engaging and interactive activities, including a Quiz.
It was also attended by guests from All Saints School and St. Stephen's School,
Ajmer.
The
workshop concluded with the felicitation of the Resource Persons by our Vice
Principal, Ms. Sindhu Chaturvedi.
