A Puppet show was organised on the 25th and 26th of July 2016 for the children of Pre-Primary and I and II. The children from pre-primary school enjoyed Rainy Day on the 26th of July 2016.
The puppet show was an opportunity for the young children to get acquainted with Kathputli - traditional marionette that is an inseparable part of the colourful and vibrant culture of Rajasthan.
Tradition of Kathputli is based on folk tales and stories; this art beautifully demonstrates a play way method of assimilating the culture of one’s homeland.
The children spent a wonderful time watching the puppet show and experiencing the vibrancy and energy associated with the Art. The puppeteers narrated the folk tales and sang patriotic songs in Rajasthani Dialect.
“Since rainy is the month and rainy is the day, why not step outside and enjoy the rain today?” This must have been the thought in the minds of the tiny tots who felt like stepping outside the classroom and have fun in the rain. The children wore colourful raincoats & carried beautiful umbrellas. Getting wet in the rain & dancing was an exhilarating experience for them.
