Inter-House English Story Enactment took place on 5th August 2016. The students in their colourful costumes and makeup presented their respective characters to the very best. The audience roared with laughter on seeing the emperor in “Emperor’s New Clothes”; “And So They Did”, “The Bremen Town Musician” and “Think Like Me, Be Like Me” entertained the audience and filled the participants with a sense of accomplishment.
The Bremen Town Musician- The play tells a tale of a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster , all past their prime years in life and usefulness on their respective farms. These poor animals are mistreated by their masters. One by one they leave their homes and set out on a journey together to Bremen, a city celebrated for its freedom. They all become musicians and scare the bandits from the town.
The Emperor's New Clothes- It is a short tale about two weavers who promise an emperor a new set of clothes that are invisible to those who are unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent. It is a fun story about fear of truth, wisdom, stupidity and incompetence. It reminds us of the never-ending human desire for power and material things.
And So They Did- A shortage of princes isn't enough to stop three resourceful princesses from finding three princes.
Think Like Me, Be Like Me - This skit brought to the fore the relevant issue of ‘Generation Gap’ and its consequences. The children have to learn to respect and empathise with their parents and the elders too need to reciprocate the same.
