‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ is Government of India’s flagship program
to improve nutritional outcomes for children. The aim of this program is to
direct the attention of the country towards the problem of malnutrition and
address it in a mission-mode.
Keeping this mission in mind, students from classes Nursery –
V celebrated the ‘Poshan Maah’ in the month of September 2021. During this
month, a variety of activities related to nutrition awareness like Group
Discussions, Special talks, Show and Tell, Create a Healthy Menu Card and Poster
making were carried out grade wise. The children were also motivated to share
or offer a nutritious meal with at least one child from the underprivileged
sections of the society, living in their neighbourhood adhering to COVID-19
guidelines. This not only helped the children understand the nutritional levels
in the society, but also imbibed in them a sense of social responsibility,
inclusion and volunteerism.
