The Mayoor Invitational Debates and Quiz
(MIDQ) 2026 drew to a triumphant close on Saturday, 1 August 2026, capping a
weekend that brought together some of the sharpest young minds in the region.
Eighteen Schools went head-to-head in the debate championship, turning the
campus into a vibrant arena of spirited competition.
The Final placed participants at the
ethical frontier of artificial intelligence, wrestling with the motion: βπ»πππ π―ππππ, ππ

delivered a gripping contest that kept the audience on edge until the final
verdict. And it was Mayoor School, Ajmer emerging victorious, claiming the
coveted Rolling Trophy, but staying true to MIDQ's cherished tradition, the
host school passed the Rolling Trophy on to JPHS.
Adding further shine to the host school's
achievement, Kritin Goyal of Mayoor School, Ajmer was crowned the Overall Best
Speaker.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, Principal Shri
Sanjay Khati spoke on the transformative power of language, invoking Franz
Kafka's π΄ππππππππππππ, a story, he noted, resonates well with Gen Z navigating burnout
and quiet existential unease, to observe that Gregor Samsa's real tragedy was
his inability to be heard. He also spoke of π±πππππ (the conversations we endlessly imagine but never voice) and urged
the young debaters not to let their most important words go unsaid.
The Chief Guest, Shri Rakesh Singh Joon,
DIG, CRPF also drew a compelling parallel between the debating floor and the
battlefield. The true strength of a civilization, he observed, lies not in
avoiding conflict, but in learning to resolve it through dialogue rather than
force.
The event drew to a close with a thoroughly
entertaining Vote of Thanks delivered in the truly Asian Parliamentary style by
Smt. Karuna Tandon.
