Today,
as I turn forty-seven and all your good wishes are pouring in generously, I
find myself standing tall in the shade of my own trees, listening to the sound
that has defined me for nearly five decades- the laughter of merry children.
Itโs my birthday, but it does not feel complete unless I spend it telling you,
my community, how much I love you.
Every kind word you have sent my way, every child you entrusted to me, every
parent who believed in me, every teacher who gave me his mornings and his
patience, every alumnus who still calls me home from wherever life has taken
them; all of it has been love, poured into me year after year. I expanded my
branches in every direction, reaching out further and further, simply to make
room for all the love you continue to give me.
My Principal often says that the true bedrock of Education is never built with
brick and mortar, but with compassion, curiosity, and courage. I have always
believed that too. My classrooms have never demanded perfection; they have only
celebrated effort.
I will not pretend my journey has been without its storms. I have lived through
good years and difficult ones, seasons of ease and seasons that tested me. But
I have sailed through every single one of them, because I have never sailed
alone.
Today,
as part of my birthday celebrations, I was especially moved to welcome Smt.
Pushpa Singh, wife of my former Principal, Mr. J. I. Singh (the longest-serving
Principal in my history) as the most special guest. She taught the pre-primary
children, from 1986 to 1995, with a gentleness I still remember in the walls of
that wing. To have her with me on this day is to be reminded that the people
who shape me never really leave, they simply become part of my foundation.
So thank you for the love that built me, the faith that grew me, and the
presence that keeps me standing tall in every direction I have reached. I am,
and will always be, yours.
With all my love,
๐๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ค๐ง
