The
conversation around CLT is louder than ever in the hyper-stimulating digital
age, where the brain's working memory is frequently overloaded. A workshop,
therefore, on Cognitive Load Theory, synthecized by psychologist John Sweller
was conducted on Saturday, 9 May 2026 for all teaching staff. The session was
facilitated by Ms. Shalini Tripathi, Ms. Annapurna Maheshwari, Ms. Ravinder
Kaur, Ms. Jasleen Kaur Khurana, Mr. Sandeep Gaur, and Mr. Devendra Bagla under
the guidance of Principal, Shri Sanjay Khati.
The
workshop focused on designing effective learning experiences by reducing
unnecessary cognitive load and enhancing student understanding. Participants
were introduced to a comprehensive Cognitive Load Design Checklist covering
content organization, visual design, instructional strategies, assessment
practices, technology integration, inclusion, and STEM-specific considerations.
Through discussions and practical examples, teachers explored ways to make
lessons more structured, accessible, and learner-friendly.
The
session proved highly insightful and equipped educators with practical
strategies to improve classroom instruction and student engagement.
