The 37th Annual Prize Giving of Mayoor School, Ajmer was a celebration of Mayoorites’ talent in academics, co-curricular activities and games in the year 2016.

The chief guest of the evening Shri V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Administration gave away the prizes.

This year Green House claimed the Thakur Devi Singh of Mandawa Cup for the Best House in Sports.

Red House Was awarded Late Maharaja Charanveer Singh of Jaisalmer Shield for Indian Music and MCGC Trophy for Excellence in Music.   They were also the proud receivers of the Badnor Cup for Athletics.

The Kishangarh Trophy for CCA, the Marwar Cup for Excellence in Academics  and the Toshniwal Shield for IT were bagged by the Yellow House making them the righteous winners of the most coveted Kotah Shield.

The felicitation of the laureates was followed by Swarlahiri a musical rendition by the Mayoor Orchestra and Choir Ensemble which began with a serene overture of poignant melody and mellifluous harmony gliding into streaking sargam  shimmers and the tempestuous Malhar configuration  in Moderato and Presto before the stage galloped with the percussion and the roaring of the heavy guitar.  The Tal Kacheri syncopaetia resolved into a heart-warming qawwali with the Kathak dancers taking the stage to summon a rising crescendo that unfolded the denouement.

The P.G. play this year ‘El Tesoro..’ was an adaptation of ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho.  Scripted and directed by the students with guidance from the teachers, it came out to be a story of a young shepherd ‘Kabir’ from the picturesque land of Ladakh who barters all he had to find his ‘treasure’.
