Manav Thakkar of class XI qualifies for the Table Tennis World Championship to be held at Capetown, South Africa from November 30 to December 7, 2016.

• 16 years of age he is currently ranked India number 1 in U- 18, number 1 in U- 21 & number 3 in the senior category. 

• He is ranked number 40 at the International level.

• He is the first Indian to win the silver medal(Singles) in the junior U-18 category at the Poland Open Table Tennis Tournament held at Warsaw,Poland in July.

• He  won the silver medal in the Inter Institution tournament held in Jaipur in June 2016 by beating two Indian National level table tennis players which is a rare feat.
