Ms. Shaheen Agarwal, a renowned Resource Person, Diction Coach, TEDx Speaker and Oracy Builder, conducted an engaging workshop with the children of Classes IV and V on Friday, 7 March 2025. She highlighted the value of Reading, particularly reading aloud. She also explained that ‘inferring' is crucial while reading. She differentiated between fiction and non-fiction genres and stressed upon the fact that the way one reads gives meaning to the words. She also emphasized the role of tone, speech and body language in understanding difficult vocabulary.

Throughout the workshop, she encouraged students to think in English, build their language skills, speak mindfully and create vivid mental images while Reading and Writing.

She further stressed on the significance of framing interesting sentences using Wh- questions.

Ms. Shaheen Agarwal annoye advised children to listen to Children's Podcasts and Audio Stories. She also discussed the importance of 'paraphrasing' for enhanced comprehension.

The workshop concluded with her guiding the children through two reading worksheets, focusing on phrasing and prosody.
