Shri Sahdev Singh, author of
the book Riddles in Rhyme, met the students and teachers on Saturday, 20
January 24, in a delightfully interactive symposium, also attended by teachers
of other reputed schools in the town.
The event was an opportunity
for the students to interact with the author, who is also an avid blogger,
birder, and a corporate writer.
Mr. Sahdev Singh, during the
course of the discussion, recommended that verses are best read aloud and
solved with the help of friends, siblings, and parents.
The riddles in the book are
about all those subjects that are children's favourites: animals, wildlife and
nature, comics and cartoons, superheroes, fairy tales, storybooks, astronomy,
and sports. Some riddles don't quite fall into these neat pigeonholes, so they
are even more interesting to solve.
Shri Sanjay Khati, Principal,
Mayoor School, expressed that events of this nature hold special importance in
today's times in bringing children back to the habit of Reading an effective
way to reduce their screen time. He also thanked Shri Sahdev Singh for
contributing to the same.
