The first edition of MSAMUN was organised
from August 29- August 31, 2016 at Mayoor School, Ajmer.
The enthusiasm amongst the Mayoorites
for MSAMUN was plenty and six months of planning, meticulousness, determination
and patience translated to the success of the big event. It is noteworthy that
the senior students were a crucial part of every stage of the event right from
planning to the finale.
The success of the event has laid a
strong foundation for the organisation of successive editions of MSAMUN.
Timeline

2012 – First Model UN conference
attended by students of Mayoor School, Ajmer.
2013 – First training session
conducted for a delegation by Secretary General.
2014 – Participation of Mayoorites in
MUN across various schools in India continued.
2015 – Model UN club was established at
the school where students from classes 9th to 12th were
trained intensively. The training was given by present Secretary General, Ms.
Vani Ghai. Till date she has trained over 70 Mayoorites for Model UN.
Inter-House Model UN was initiated to
train delegates for inter-school competitions. Mayoor started participating in
various prestigious conferences across India and also won many awards.
On 29th December 2015, the idea of
hosting an inter-school MUN conference at Mayoor School, Ajmer emerged.
2016 – First edition of MSAMUN
organized successfully.

2016 in the making
The Secretary General and Director General
along with the MUN coordinator invited the Director of Wiziwig Learnings and
Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Dikshant Malik for a small meeting about the
conference. Post the instructions, selection of the members for The Secretariat
– the 17 member body responsible for the organization of this conference was
done.
The colour theme was decided, the logo
was made. The students designed, created and updated the MSAMUN website
(msamun.in) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MAYOORSCHOOLAJMERMUN) to spread
the awareness about MSAMUN. Meanwhile, registration forms were made and
invitations being sent electronically or telephonically.
In June 2016, Mr. Dikshant Malik trained
all delegates exclusively for MSAMUN’16. In July 2016, Secretary General
trained students from the local participating schools and members of the
organizing committee in order to prepare the next batch of students who would
host MSAMUN’17.
The Secretary General and the Director
General successfully managed to bring 12 sponsors for MSAMUN, by writing and
sending letters of sponsorship and going and visiting them at their workplaces.
In July, the Secretariat selected 50
students to work in different departments. From the delegate kits, to the huge
flex boards in the school campus, everything was designed and managed by the
students over the time period of three months. The allotments started in the
month of June and continued all through August.

2016- The Opening, the conference and the finale
The Opening Ceremony on August 29,
2016 initiated MSAMUN. The chief guest for the ceremony was Shri Devendra
Singh, IPS (Retd.) who serves as the chairman of the Mayoor School Committee.
180 delegates from 16 schools across
India participated in the event. The schools were Maharani Gaytri Devi School,
Jaipur; Maharaja Sawai Mansingh Vidhyalya, Jaipur; Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls
School, Jodhpur; Genesis Global School, Noida; Sangam School of Excellence,
Bhilwara; H.G. International, Abu Road; Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer; Mayo
College Boys, Ajmer; Delhi Public School, Gwalior; Scindia School, Gwalior
Fort; St. Stephens School, Ajmer; Sanskriti...The School, Ajmer; St. Mary’s
Convent, Ajmer, Sophia School, Ajmer and India International School, Jaipur.

On August 30, 2016 all the delegates
were invited for Principal’s dinner at the Kotah Art School.
The Closing Ceremony on August 31, 2016 concluded the big event. The chief guest for the ceremony was Lt Gen Shri Kulkarni (Retd.), Principal, Mayo College. The best delegation trophy was awarded to Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur. The memories of the first ever edition of MSAMUN was sealed with the presentation of mementos and gifts to the Executive Board Members, the delegates and the teachers who escorted them and the members of Mayoor School, Ajmer who contributed in making MSAMUN a success.
