INTER-HOUSE SPORTS

INTER-HOUSE ATHLETIC MEET

The Meet is conducted in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Amateur Athletics Federation of India. Boys and Girls participate in the track and field events. The competition is divided into the following separate categories for boys and girls :

AGE BOYS GIRLS
Above 16 years- Senior Category A E
Above 14 years and up to 16 yrs- Medium category B F
Above 12 years and up to 14 yrs- Medium category C F
Up to 12 years- Sub-junior category D G

The track and field events that comprise the Athletic Meet are as follows:

For individual trophy it is mandatory for an athlete to participate in both track and field events. Following is the list of individual trophies that are awarded after the event:


i) Best athlete in the Senior Boys Section.
ii) Best athlete in the Medium Boys Section.
iii) Best athlete in the Junior Boys Section.
iv) Best athlete in the Senior Girls Section.
v) Best athlete in the Medium Girls Section.

March-past Trophy is awarded to the House on the basis of the respective performances of the houses on the Annual Sports Day.


INTER-HOUSE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The championship is played on a league basis and all the matches are played as per FIFA rules.

For the championship each House is divided in four categories on the basis of age as below-:

(i) House XI and Second House XI Above 14 years
(ii) Junior A and Junior B Under 14 years
(iii) Sub-Junior A and Sub-Junior B Under 12 years
(iv) Girls One team from each House takes part in this championship; there is no age restriction in this category.

INTER-HOUSE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

The Tournament is played on a League Basis. Matches are played as per the Hockey India (formerly Indian Hockey Federation) rules.

Each House is divided into five teams as mentioned below:

(i) House XI Above 14 years
(ii) Second House- XI Under 14 years
(iii) Junior A Under 14 years
(iv) Junior B Under 14 years
(v) Girls One team from each House takes part in this championship; there is no age restriction in this category.

The team uniform for the boys and girls comprises T-shirts of the House colour, shorts, stockings and sports shoes.


INTER-HOUSE CRICKET TOURNAMENT

The Tournament is played on a League basis.

Each house is divided into three groups on the basis of age.

(i) House XI and Colts – XI Above 14 years
(ii) Junior A and Junior B Under 14 years
(iii) Sub-Junior Under 12 years

Limited overs cricket is played by all the teams. The matches for Junior ‘A’, Junior ‘B’ and Under-12 category teams are played with 45 overs per side whereas those for the House-XI & Colt-XI teams are played with 50 overs per side.


INTER-HOUSE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

The championship is played on a league basis and the matches are played as per the International Softball Federation rules.

Each House is divided in four categories on the basis of age.

(i) House XI Above 14 years
(ii) Junior A Above 14 years
(iii) Sub-Junior Under 12 years
(iv) Girls Open One team from each House takes part in the championship; there is no age restriction.


INTER-HOUSE HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

The championship is played on a league basis and matches are played as per the International Handball Federation rules.

Each House is divided into five categories.

(i) House XI and Second house XI Above 14 years
(ii) Junior A and Junior B Under 14 years
(iii) Sub-Junior A and Sub-Junior B Under 14 years
(iv) Junior Girls Under 14 years
(v) Senior Girls Above 14 years

INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The tournament is played on league basis. Matches are played as per the Basketball Federation of India rules.

Each house is divided into six teams on the basis of age. They are:

(i) House XI and Second House XI Above 14 years
(ii) Junior A and Junior B Above 14 years
(iii) Girls (Junior) Under 14 years
(iv) JGirls (Senior) Under 19 years
