Independence Day Celebrations at the Primary School

The Independence Day was celebrated in the Primary School on August 12, 2016.

The Pre-Primary Block was decorated with the Tricolor and the tiny tots dressed up as national leaders to display their love and respect towards freedom fighters. The children of Pre-Primary displayed their patriotism by singing the melodious song ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’. There was also a dance performance by the children of UKG on the song ‘Vande Matram’.

Students of classes I&II celebrated the Independence Day as ‘Patriotic Day’ and were dressed up in ‘Tri Colour’ Indian dresses.

Students of Class I coloured the sheets with National Symbols and learnt more about India. They also spoke about the great national leaders.

Students of Class II discussed and spoke about various monuments, famous personalities, popular dance forms, famous personalities, costumes, cuisines and festivals. The children participated actively in the discussion. The activity not only improved their knowledge but also enhanced their speaking skills.

Students of Classes III – V sailed back to the past to remember and pay homage to the founders of the nation. The Students from English Dramatics Club and English Reading & Speaking Club dressed up as the famous freedom fighters and presented their slogans.

Hindi Dramatics Club presented a street play ‘Ye Azzadi Kaisi Hai?’ The play talked about sacrifices made by our forefathers which paved the foundation for the modern India we live in today. The Play brought home the pertinent message of why we should value our motherland.

Yoga & Dance Clubs together presented a beautiful and colourful Yoga and dance performance depicting different Indian states on the theme ‘We are one’.

A melodious Hindi and English song was presented by the students of Indian Vocal Club & Western Vocal Club respectively.

Lastly, students from the Computer Club presented a very informative Power Point Presentation. It showcased the latest and out of the box innovations/inventions in various fields by the young Indians.
